I am horrible at gardening, but I want to have a small garden in my front yard. I live in Southern Louisiana and the front yard gets sun for a large portion of the day. Everything I try putting there dies, no matter how well I take care of it. I am a busy mom so I want something that will look good but doesn't require too much work. I know I have to weed and water, but I don't want to, nor do I have time to be in my garden all the time. Suggestions?

We had a small vegetable garden and a few months ago some major life things happened so we completely forgot about our garden. What I was wondering, is do we need to pull up all of the dead plants or can we just bury them there? Would this nutritionalize the soil or would it just be better to pull them all up?
I think the only reason they are dead is that they starved to death because we forgot to water them for a few monthes, and didn't protect them during the winter.

I have a large garden with some spring bulb flowers, planning on some Glads, and would like to establish some flowering bushs - a portion of this garden gets full sun and about 1/3 is afternoon shade.

Glass is recycled supposedly for the energy savings. How about garden pottery? They are large pots of knee-high size, a bit worn. I don't know that people buy used garden pottery unless they are of artistic value; these are not.

I'm a novice to gardening and we are planning to create a community garden. The area suggested is on a slight incline. Maybe 20-30 degree. What are the particular challenges involved in creating a garden in such a landscape and also how would you do a community garden in such an area? We'll need a deer fence too. Please help!
Our garden is only 20x20 big ... please advise.

I recently moved into my house. in the backyard there was a stump tree. i decided to grow a garden around it. After digging up most of the soil my neighbor came by and said i would have trouble growing anything because that stump was a old pine tree. i didnt remove the stump but removed tons of its roots(electric saw:-) that would interfere with planting.
My question would the acidity affect my future veggie garden?

I live in Illinois and for several years have tried to plant a garden of different vegetables in my backyard and have had no success. I do not know what I am doing wrong. The place where I have decided to plant the garden gets a lot of sun light during the day plus it does get shade. I have used many different fertilizers to get to grow but nothing seems to work. I want to grow cucumbers and pumpkins this summer. What do I need to do to get my garden to grow?

The perimeter of a rectangular garden is 1200 feet? The length of the garden is 300 feet more than twice the width. If l represents the length of the garden and w represents the width of the garden, which pair of equations should be used to determine the values of l and w?
