Or would I have to weather-proof the paper in some way? If so, what would I need?
I have some origami and other paper projects that I would like to leave outdoors if possible. But if not, I can always bring them back in during bad weather.
Thank you for your time.
Best answer: If you use some type of sealer ... polyurethane or varnish, etc. ... even a clear spray-paint ... that would at least help to make your projects somewhat waterproof.
But, keep in mind that, even if sealed, the color in the paper will fade if exposed to sunlight.
I had a couple of painted chairs (that I had decorated using scrapbooking paper and decoupage medium, then varnish). They sat on my front porch (in total shade) over the course of a summer ... and even indirect sunlight caused them to fade noticeably within a few months.
