What occupations involve theater and working with young children?
I wanted to be a musical theater major, but I after being a camp counselor, I realized how much I enjoy working with young kids. Are there any jobs (other than the obvious musical theater teacher for young children) that intertwine both?
Best answer: you could try and be an acting and/or voice coach. There are lots of youth theatre groups on the level from amateur to professional, and you could help them on voice or acting work. Or you could go for a directing major and career and then work exclusively with those kinds of groups. In either of those, you would also be able to switch from musicals to straight plays and still work with groups of young performers, which might give you more job options.

Answer 2 A lot of theaters offer education programs, many of which are geared toward children. Get in touch with the theaters in your area or do some online research. See if any of them offer education internships. 2009-07-03 18:27:19
