What equipment is needed for a dog and cat grooming parlour?
I am looking for the Equipment need for a dog and cat grooming parlour, can someone tell me all equipment needed to run a dog and cat grooming parlour... How big will the shop have to be?

1 dog grooming table (with grooming arm and grooming noose)
1 - slicker brush
1 - pin brush
1 - medium and coarse tined metal comb (Greyhound style)
1 - Hair of dog nail clippers (size dependant on your dog)
1 - small container of styptic powder (just incase)
1 - pair of 5 inch straight hemostats (for ear cleaning)
Cotton balls and or Q-tips
1 - bottle ear cleaner
1 - 2 speed dog grooming clippers with #10 blade
1 - dog grooming clippers #30 blade
1 - bottle dog shampoo (preferably hypoallergenic and tearless)
1 - dog dryer (or a way to dry your dog)
1 - pair of straight 6 inch dog grooming scissors
Clipper blades of your choosing (for the length of trim you want to accomplish)
1 - pair of 6 inch curved dog grooming scissors
1 - pair of thinning shears
1 - set of dog grooming clippers blade combs (If you want a longer cut on your dogs)

Answer 2 What Lauren said is correct, if you only plan on grooming one dog or cat a day.
All of the equipment she mentioned needs to be sanitized between animals, so you would need to multiply it all by at least 10.
You would need cages and crates to hold dogs in while waiting to be groomed and waiting to be picked up.
Here is an idea, go to a local grooming salon and ask if you can spend some time and take some notes on their equipment and take pictures if possible then you will have some idea as to what is needed and how many of each. 2010-07-29 07:17:24
