How to disinfect outdoor patio tile after finding a dead rat and blood?
Found a dead rat and about 5 nickel sized blood spots on my back patio. I'm assumed he hemorrhaged from rat poisoning that a neighbor put out. Had hubby get rid of the rat but I'm concerned about thoroughly disinfecting the area, mostly because I have cats that I take on my patio (supervised, but still...) daily. I don't want them to pick up any diseases or germs if they walk on those tiles. Any advice?

Best answer: Use a few capfuls of bleach in a bucket of water, clean the area with rags & wearing rubber gloves and garbage them all when you're done.

Answer 2 Dump your mop water on it, and use the hose. There is absolutely nothing dangerous. 2010-09-17 15:53:17
