Is there a way to follow a gps in your car from home? like if somebody has your car and you want to see where they went with it? assuming you have a gps in your car like a tomtom

Best answer: You cannot track your vehicle from home with a GPS-type device. What you'd want is a system called LoJack. With it, if someone steals your car or motorcycle the device can transmit the exact location of the vehicle to law enforcement. And it works great... a friend of mine in college had his brand-new motorcycle stolen from his apartment but luckily he had LoJack installed. The police were able to track it to its location... when they found the garage and opened the doors there were like 65 other stolen bikes in there and they caught the S.O.B.'s red-handed. Jail for them, by buddies' bike back to him minus the parts they'd already stripped.
