Buying Amazon kindle books from overseas?

I've got a Amazon kindle, but I happen to reside and live outside the US. How can I purchase kindle books from amazon.com? Is it possible to buy a gift card from Amazon, and use it to buy the Kindle Books?

If you can buy a gift card you can buy books. Sign up for or sign in to your Amazon.com account and register your kindle if you haven't already done so. You will need a credit/debit card with a US address... Go to the " Manage Your Kindle" section of your account. scroll down to "Your orders." Identify the book you just bought, click on the drop down menu and send it to your computer. Hook up your Kindle to your computer with the USB cable. Drag and drop the book into the Kindle folder...the book is now on your kindle...disconnect kindle from computer and read book.
